Indications

Digestive organs (stomach and duodenum)

  • Hyperacidity (too much stomach acid)
  • Gastro-oesophageal reflux (hiatus hernia from inflammation of the oesophagus)
  • Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach's mucous membrane)
  • Dyspepsia
  • Ulcers in the stomach and the duodenum.

For normal secretion of stomach acid approximately 1.2 litres a day of Donat Mg has enough PH level maintaining capability for the neutralisation of secreted acid, so consequently it can be used as an antacid for diseases of the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. Sulphate ion stimulates the secretion of gastrin which improves the blood supply of the stomach's mucous membrane and slows down the emptying of the stomach. Donat Mg helps numerous patients with dyspeptic problems who suffer from the sensation of fullness after a meal plus also bloating, heartburn and burping, and for whom it is not possible to find particular problem areas with a gastroscopy. Sulphate ion stimulates the secretion of cholecystokinin in the duodenum which causes contraction of the gall bladder while at the same time relaxing the Oddi sphincter. And so follows stimulation of the secretion of hydrogen carbonate and pancreatic enzymes.

Magnesium on its own works to prevent stomach cramps, improve peristalsis and the closing function of the cardia (closing muscles at the entrance of the stomach) and accelerate cellular renewal. Magnesium is also a construction element with regard to quickly renewing cells of the stomach's mucous membrane.

So Donat Mg replaces agents against excess gastric acid.

How do we drink Donat Mg?
For patients suffering from stomach or bile problems and liver or pancreas complaints, it is best to drink 3-5 dcl of lukewarm Donat mg in the morning, but during the day it should be drunk at either lukewarm or room temperature. For specified problems smaller amounts (1-2 dcl) should be drunk during the day half an hour before a meal.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Donat Mg alleviates problems associated with eating a very heavy meal, drinking overly- strong coffee or consuming too much alcohol. Coffee, spirits and heavy meals all irritate the mucous membrane of the stomach, which can be soothed by drinking Donat Mg.
