Indications
Kidney Stones, Urinary Stones (Urolithiasis)
Donat Mg prevents the formation of calcium oxalate and urate kidney stones. All the components are absorbed through the intestinal wall into the circulation of the blood, so they work on the whole body. Here magnesium, the most important component of Donat Mg, plays a special role.
It is known that the amount of magnesium which passes out of the body in urine is considerably increased with the intake of magnesium salts. The formation and growth of oxalate urinary stones (which endanger the populations of industrially developed countries) slows down when there is a high magnesium content in the urine.
Clinical research around the world has shown great success with regard to treatment with magnesium, in that the number of reappearances in patients with oxalate or oxalate-phosphate urolithiasis was reduced, even by as much as 10 times.
The main factors responsible for the formation of urinary stones are:
- A supersaturated solution of urine containing substances which make up urinary stones (ie, a high concentration of promoters - calcium, oxalates, urates, low or high PH levels, low diures (concentrated urine), infections, disturbances in draining).
- A low concentration of inhibitors - magnesium, citrates, phosphates, acid mucopolysaccharides and ribonucleic acid.
- The inhibition potential of urine, which prevents crystallisation.
- Retention of micro-organisms.
After intensive research of the etiopatogenese of urinary stones it was found out that some metabolic disturbance was present in approximately 90% of patients. With analysis of the serum and of the promoters and inhibitors of urolithiasis in the urine, it was demonstrated that patients eliminated more calcium and oxalates in urine and smaller amounts of magnesium and citrates.
Medical Treatment: Reductions in the concentration levels of the urine, reduction in the number of promoters whilst increasing the number of inhibitors - with appropriate treatment. Less complicated conditions receive treatment with diet, and the more difficult with a course of medicine.
Research on the influence of Donat Mg on promoters and inhibitors in urolithiasis
The preliminary part of the research carried out on healthy individuals gave very satisfactory results. All the critical elements changed considerably after drinking Donat Mg. PH levels moved from an acidic value into the neutral region, the amount of calcium increased slightly, the amount of oxalates was substantially reduced, there was a considerable reduction in the supersaturation of uric acid with calcium oxalates - the main inducers of oxalate stones - and the number of inhibitors, magnesium and citrates increased.
It can be seen that by drinking Donat Mg mineral water, the formation of oxalate/oxalate-phosphate urolithiasis can be prevented, which signifies 90% of urinary stones. Through this research the justification for its 300 year old empire use can be examined. Drinking Donat Mg has a multi-purpose effect, as besides magnesium we also take in water and hydrogen carbonate into our organisms, which reduces the concentratedness of the urine, increases the PH value and increases the secretion of another important inhibitor, citrate. Drinking tasty and ecologically clean mineral water is therefore so much more pleasant for patients than having to take medicine.
Hepatitis Porphyria
Donat Mg is also a natural healing agent for acute intermittent hepatitis porphyria. This is usually a rare hereditary disease, which takes the form of a disturbance of the synthesis of the protoporphyrins in the liver. Patients can experience neurological, psychiatric or also abdominal symptoms. Left undetected, this condition can be fatal. Regular drinking of Donat Mg, which contains large amounts of magnesium (which is genetically a coenzyme to the damaged enzymes of the synthesis of protoporphyrin IX) helps acute attacks, but is also a means of preventing the attack occurring in the first place.
